How did you first hear about Umbraco CMS?
When I started working for a consulting company that implemented sites on Umbraco. That was way back in the early V4 days :)
How long have you been part of the Umbraco community and what do you like / dislike about it?
I've been in and out of the community since 2011. With V7 in late 2013 my engagement picked up quite a bit more - specially as part of the Archetype team. I have always loved how open minded and helpful the Umbraco community is, and not least its willingness to create awesome stuff that others can benefit from.
Have you been to Codegarden? If yes, what did you think about it, if no, is there any reason why?
Yes, several times. It is by far my favorite conference to attend. It's always an amazing experience, everyone should go!
How did it feel when you received the notification that you were being awarded an MVP award?
Has being awarded the MVP made you look at things differently / has it changed anything in your day to day life e.g. asked to do more Umbraco talks? Asked more Umbraco questions at your workplace?
It has definitively made me more visible in Umbraco World.
If you could offer a new member of the community one bit of advice, what would it be?
Get involved! Answer questions on the forum, fix bugs, submit issues or feature requests... contribute in any way you can. It's not dangerous, it's actually incredibly rewarding.
Tell us about 1 of your most favourite things whether it's a band, a colour, a bit of software you couldn't live without, an item of clothing, a book, anything but tell us why you love it so much.
Live music... I love going to concerts. I'm a music lover in general, and hearing it live is definitively the best way to experience music in my book.
What does a typical day look like for you during the working week?
Architecture, design, clarification and every so often a bit of coding time too. A lot of my time is spent with customers, clarifying requirements and dependencies to ensure my team has everything ready for whatever comes next.
What do you do in your spare time? Hobbies?
I play music with friends whenever I get the chance. I do a lot of PR work for Umbraco. And of course with a 4yr old running around, things rarely are boring :)
Anything else you'd like to share with the Umbraco Community?
I have the deepest respect for anyone that gets involved. You all rock ♥
