Add a Sender Name when using Umbraco Forms

Have you ever set up an Umbraco Form which emails a user and when the user gets the email in to their inbox it just shows up as your email address?

From Address in Email Client

Wouldn't it be nice if it showed your name or maybe your company name?

Well, as you can see from the screenshot, it is possible and it's really easy to setup. You can do it via the workflow on Umbraco Forms.

If you add a "send email" workflow to your form, you have a couple of configuration options. One option is "Sender Email" and this is where you setup the name you want to display.

As you can see, I've added "Owain.Codes" which then shows in the email when it arrives in my inbox.

Make sure you wrap the email address in "< >" and you are good to go.

You can also do the same for the Recipient Email address if you really wanted. I've used the magic strings in the "Recipent Email" field which made the alias of two fields on my form, one field called Name and the other is Email.

When the workflow is then activated, the name and email are replaced by what the user has typed in to the form:
